The market saw a bounce today to end the week of red after investors feared an interest rate hike and the Federal Reserve becoming more hawkish towards a rate cut. However earnings beat lifted the spirits of the market and a weaker jobs report gave investors a silver lining of a rate cut coming sooner than later. Let’s take a look at how our index’s performed:

The Dow Jones Industrial Average saw 1.2% pop
The S&P500 saw a 1.3% rise
The Nasdaq Composite increased a solid 2%
The April jobs report was released today and showed a cooled off labor market as employers added 175k jobs and unemployment jumped up to a whopping 3.9%, the street expected a total of 240k jobs to be added.
